Three Teams That Could Be Interested in Trading For Dwayne Haskins

Just want to start off by saying I can't believe I'm writing this post. Seems like it was yesterday Haskins 'earned' Head Coach Ron Rivera's respect and grabbed ahold of the starting quarterback job. But here we are..

We are midway through the week and Dwayne hasn't returned to the facility since a stomach bug kept him off the sidelines for Sunday's game against the Rams. Must be one hell of a stomach bug! Maturity concerns along with poor performance and comments from his agent, has led many to believe the 2nd year quarterback could be on the move by the NFL Trade Deadline 11/3.

The former first round pick didn't do himself any favors last week when he unfollowed the head coach and Kyle Allen, to name a few, on social media. Even if Washington is calling everyone in the league trying to trade Dwayne, it HAS to be a little more difficult when we hear the social media stuff. I would imagine teams get turned off by that stuff, and we haven't even mentioned the performance on the field.

Nonetheless, the trade deadline is approaching and we've pinpointed a few teams that may be interested in Dwayne Haskins' services. Let's get into it.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan is getting up there in age on an 0-5 Atlanta Falcons team. Ryan has certainly had his ups and downs over the years, but the one thing we know for sure is he is a good pocket passer. Ryan could teach Haskins a thing or two about success and consistency throwing from the pocket.

Ryan's backup is Matt Schaub, who is 39 years old! If Atlanta is going to blow it up, we could very well see both these QBs gone by next season. Not saying Washington would trade for either of these by the deadline, but it is very plausible that Atlanta would want some sort of insurance at the quarterback spot for cheap heading into a rebuild.

Proposed Trade:

Washington Receives: Atlanta's 2021 6th round draft pick & 2022 7th round draft pick

Atlanta Receives: Dwayne Haskins

Denver Broncos

Drew Lock is recovering from a shoulder injury from early on in the season and he's played well for young QB standards when healthy, but the NFL changes quick. Let's remember John Elway loves big QB's, and Haskins fits the bill.

NE, KC, LA Chargers are next on the schedule until the trade deadline for a Denver team struggling to win. If Denver fires Head Coach Vic Fangio by the deadline, expect Elway to be both a seller and a buyer, especially if Lock has any lingering issues with his shoulder. Brett Rypien, Jeff Driskel, and Blake Bortles simply aren't ready to step in and win. Given that aside from Rypien we know what those players can do, it wouldn't be far fetched for Elway to pry Haskins on the cheap.

Proposed Trade:

Washington Receives: Denver's 2021 7th Round Pick & 2022 7th Round Pick

Denver Receives: Dwayne Haskins

Dallas Cowboys

Unfortunately this looks to be the most likely scenario. Dak Prescott is out 4-6 months with an ankle injury after Sunday's game vs the Giants. Prescott's backup and longtime Bengals QB Andy Dalton is solid and worthy of starting on a few teams, for sure, but Dallas' new backup Ben DiNucci has never played a snap in the NFL.

With Dallas playing Arizona, Washington, and Philly over the next 3 games leading up to the trade deadline, look for the Cowboys to come calling if Dalton struggles.

Even if Dalton succeeds, the new backup spot is too much of a question mark for a Cowboys team that still believes it can still win the division this season. I've got my money on Jerry Jones pulling the trigger on this one.

Besides, Haskins could be a great insurance policy incase Prescott doesn't return to form. It's important to note Prescott rejected a 4-year $175 mil extension offer from Dallas in the offseason for a 1-year $31 Mil Franchise Tag. I hate to be that guy, but that doesn't seem so bad now.

Proposed Trade:

Washington Receives: 2021 5th Round Pick & 2022 6th Round Pick

Dallas Receives: Dwayne Haskins

Honorable Mentions:

Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, New York Jets
